Cambia Health Solutions is pleased to announce Ben Albert has joined its team as Operating Partner within its Direct Health Solutions division, an area focused on investing in and building companies that change the way people experience the health care system. In his new role, Albert will be responsible for accelerating Cambia’s investments, which are focused on transforming health care so that it is both economically sustainable and person-focused, while looking for new strategic business opportunities supportive of the mission.

Ben Albert is a proven entrepreneur and established health care technology executive with over 15 years of demonstrated leadership experience. Ben brings a unique track record of focusing on improving health care outcomes through better communication and management of critical data.

“Ben is not only a successful health care entrepreneur, he has provided executive leadership and advisory support to health care companies for years,” said Cambia Senior Vice President of Strategic Investment and Corporate Development Rob Coppedge. “He has a unique history of seeing problems in the health care system, and driving solutions to fix them. His work embodies our company’s mission to transform health care for consumers, and we are incredibly excited to welcome him to our team.”

Albert was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Care Team Connect, Inc., a Cambia investment and a Chicago-based health care technology firm that enabled efficient and high-quality care management across various providers, caregivers and health plans. Ben founded Care Team Connect after experiencing disjointed care for his chronically ill grandparents in late 2008. When the company was acquired by The Advisory Board Company in 2013, Albert was asked to serve as Executive Director, and he has served in this role until his recent hire at Cambia.

Before his success with Care Team Connect, Ben served in an advisory role to Airstrip Technologies, LLC in their early stages. He also spent five years in executive positions at PatientKeeper, Inc.

Ben holds a master’s degree in business administration and entrepreneurship from the University of Illinois, Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
