CauseEngine Wins Techstars Patriot Boot Camp Pitch Competition
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 23, 2015
CauseEngine, a company connecting nonprofits with freelancers to drive social impact, attended the 2015 Patriot Boot Camp presented by Techstars and hosted by Goldman Sachs. Last weekend, CauseEngine was the beneficiary of the hard-fought knowledge won by many successful entrepreneurs and industry experts, including Joanne Wilson (Gotham Gal), David Mandell (PivotDesk), and Shala Burroughs (CloudPeeps). The event concluded by allowing startup companies to pitch their ideas and businesses to a panel of judges. Out of the eleven participants, CauseEngine won first place in the pitch competition.
Patriot Boot Camp (PBC) is a nonprofit organization on a mission to equip active duty military members, veterans, and their spouses with the education, resources, and community needed to be successful technology entrepreneurs. The founders of CauseEngine, comprised of two former Marine Corps officers and one Navy spouse, were eager to attend the program.
Following the weekend event, Co-Founder and Managing Director of CauseEngine, James Brobyn, stated, “Patriot Boot Camp was simply an amazing few days. Too few veteran nonprofits focus on empowering their clients. However, PBC gets it. They empower veterans to dream big, execute, grow businesses, and continue to lead the country. The team at CauseEngine is proud to now be a part of the Techstars and PBC community. I highly encourage veteran entrepreneurs to take a risk and apply. We walked away with new friends and mentors, and were inspired by the ingenuity, grit, and determination of everyone who attended.”
CauseEngine is now testing their freelance marketplace with an estimated public launch in the fall of 2015. Visit them at http://www.CauseEngine.com or @CauseEngine on the social scene.
