Dr. Anthony J. Geroulis, board-certified cosmetic surgeon and founder of North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, has been a clinical professor of surgery at University of Chicago Medicine for 20 years. During his tenure, Dr. Geroulis has taught hundreds of future surgeons though surgical demonstrations, lectures and presentations.

In mid-March 2015, Dr. Geroulis oversaw four surgical cases presented by surgical residents Dr. Glenda Montague and Dr. Jonathan Lusardi. Three of the presentations demonstrated excellent facelift surgical results, while the other outlined a successful neck mass procedure. Both Dr. Montague and Dr. Lusardi are residents in the otolaryngology program, more commonly referred to as ear, nose and throat (ENT), which is Dr. Geroulis’ specialty. Dr Geroulis observed and critiqued the surgical presentations, as well as moderated the question and answer series.

As part of his clinical professorship, Dr. Geroulis invites the surgical residents to observe and assist in procedures at North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, his outpatient surgical facility located on the north shore of Chicago in Northfield. During these visits to Northfield, University of Chicago Medicine residents assist in a variety of procedures from upper blepharoplasty and lower blepharoplasty to facelift and rhinoplasty surgery. “Visits to my practice is a great way for residents to get hands on experience and learn about a variety of surgical techniques and practices. On a different note, visits to my outpatient facility also provide an opportunity for the residents to work on their patient care and bedside manner. My relationship with my patients is very important to me, and it is helpful for residents to observe this process,” explains Dr. Geroulis.
