First Choice Emergency Room, the largest network of independent freestanding emergency rooms in the United States, named Jeffrey Lynn Smaistrla, MD as the new Medical Director of its Louetta facility.

Dr. Smaistrla received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Texas A&M University. Dr. Smaistrla is currently a physician in the Level II Trauma Center at St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Clerkship Director of Emergency Medicine at Texas A&M University-College of Medicine. He also serves as the Director of Education for Bryan Emergency Physicians, PA. Dr. Smaistrla has held this position since June 2012. Dr. Smaistrla is board-certified in emergency medicine and currently lives in College Station, TX.

All First Choice Emergency Room facilities are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The facilities are staffed exclusively with board-certified physicians and emergency trained registered nurses.
