The jump in Retro-Line sales is due in large part to rural homeowners and vacation property owners who are purchasing the freeze protection systems to protect vulnerable waterlines from freezing. According to Heat-Line C.E.O. Lorne Heise, memories of last year’s brutally cold winter and the damage caused by the extended deep freeze is prompting owners to prepare their rural home or cottage water systems early—well in advance of the winter.

“Last year’s long cold winter has been good for business as people are rushing to install waterline freeze protection systems so they won’t get caught unprepared if we have another winter like the one we endured last year. Many rural home and cottage water systems froze last winter and owners don’t want a repeat performance,” says Heise. “This spring and summer has been markedly busier than usual, and we are also anticipating a higher volume of sales for the fall and winter of 2014/2015. We have also signed on a new sales representative for Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota, to help market and promote awareness of our freeze protection products in new market areas,” reports Heise.
