There’s a not so funny joke about why all of the doctorate level degrees in
science are doctor of philosophy, PhD. The explanation goes like this:
Graduate level psychology (which is now usually considered a science as
well) looks a lot like biology. Graduate level biology looks a lot like
chemistry. Graduate level chemistry looks a lot like physics. Graduate
level physics looks a lot like math. And graduate level math looks a lot
like philosophy. So at the core, all sciences are philosophy.
