Russ Allen Joins Berman Capital Advisors as Chief Investment Officer

Berman Capital Advisors LLC, a wealth management firm that counsels ultra-high-net-worth families, announced today that Russ Allen has joined the firm as Chief Investment Officer. In this role, Allen is responsible for managing the firm’s investment team and research process.

Allen’s responsibilities include asset allocation, manager research, and the development and implementation of the firm’s investment views. A frequent resource for the media, he has been interviewed by Institutional Investor’s Endowments and Foundations magazine.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Allen joins Berman Capital from Balentine LLC, where he served as Director of Investment Research. Prior to Balentine, Allen was a portfolio manager and Senior Equity Research Analyst for Globalt Investments.
Allen has also served as an Intelligence Analyst for the National Security Agency. A graduate of Wake Forest University with a degree in Middle Eastern History, Allen also holds two Master’s degrees in International Economics and Latin American Studies (Johns Hopkins University) and International Security (University of California at San Diego).
Separately, Berman Capital has also announced that Wen Tang has joined the firm as a Relationship Manager. Tang was previously a Client Strategies and Portfolio Solutions Analyst at AQR Capital Management, which manages over $ 100 billion in assets, where she created custom portfolio analysis tools. Prior to AQR, Tang worked in the Private Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in New York.
Tang graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Management Science and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
