Sentiment Analysis for Financial Markets to be Showcased at New York Conference
New York, NY (PRWEB)
June 26, 2015
The Sentiment Analysis Symposium 2015– the premier event for social intelligence and cognitive computing – will debut a first-ever workshop for financial markets at its upcoming, eighth annual conference, taking place July 15-16 in New York. The new half-day segment on the afternoon of Thursday, July 16, “Sentiment Analysis for Financial Markets,” is a unique opportunity for traders, strategists, researchers, analysts, and regulators working in finance to learn about the latest developments in sentiment analysis and big data particular to their industry.
“If you’re ‘seeking alpha’ you have to look at sentiment and social signals,” stated Sentiment Analysis Symposium organizer Seth Grimes. “Opinion and emotion move markets, and traders who neglect them risk losing out,” according to Grimes, who is the leading industry analyst covering text, sentiment, and social analytics technologies. He founded Alta Plana Corporation, which is producing the symposium, in 1997.
“The Sentiment Analysis Symposium is a meeting place for institutions, hedge funds, news organizations, and researchers,” Grimes said. “We aim to create a forum for learning and networking that cross-pollinates financial and consumer-insight applications and showcases key research initiatives and leading industry solutions.”
