South West Water and TaKaDu Announces Contract Expansion and Extension
Exeter, England and Yehud, Israel (PRWEB) June 30, 2014
South West Water and TaKaDu today announced a two-year contract extension and expansion of current network coverage. TaKaDu’s water network management solution will be deployed across South West Water’s entire distribution network. Managing a network of around 15,000 km of pipes, South West Water started using TaKaDu in 2013 and has had the opportunity to assess its value in complementing the company’s current leakage and asset management processes.
“In addition to being a decision support tool for managers, TaKaDu exposes leakage and metering issues as they occur, allowing us to take immediate action and plan interventions based on accurate information“ said Mark Baker, Network Manager at South West Water. He added “We are very pleased to have hit our leakage target this year and recognise the part that TaKaDu has played in this success.”
“Following an evaluation of the benefits on just part of our distribution network, we decided to expand the coverage and use TaKaDu across the full network” added Guy Doble, Head of Drinking Water Services at South West Water. “Now, after a few weeks set-up for the remaining part of our infrastructure, we get the full picture across our entire network, allowing us to assess network and asset performance, compare area performance and prioritise activities on a holistic basis. In our latest business plan submission to Ofwat, for which we received enhanced status, we made some strong commitments to our customers. By using innovative technologies such as TaKaDu we are able to deliver on those commitments.”
“We are very happy about South West Water’s decision to take the next step and roll-out TaKaDu across its entire network, making it the largest network coverage that we have in the UK” said Moshe Tamir, VP Sales and Marketing of TaKaDu. “Considering the collaborative nature of our working relationship, I am confident that this contract expansion and extension will result in even higher efficiencies than expected, as both South West Water and TaKaDu have a positive approach to making rapid improvements” Tamir added. “We are also pleased to announce the integration of TaKaDu’s integrated water network management solution with South West Water’s work management system – the first example of many initiatives that will further enhance the utility’s operational performance” he concluded.
