The Detective Moses Byone Novels Unveiled- The Dying Dance
Bristow, VA (PRWEB) August 14, 2014
The Dying Dance, first in the series, is not your typical private detective-noir fiction. It picks up in 1973 New Orleans just after the real life horrific fire at the UpStairs Lounge in the French Quarter that claimed the lives of 32 young gay men and profoundly impacted a devastated community. The Devil’s Serum and The Cemetery Painting once again find Detective Moses Byone and his friends under the pressure of the alluring but deadly Alexis Beaureparie, the crafty but deadly villain introduced in The Dying Dance.
Much of Fleshman’s work has a cultural influence – building upon the art, music, and history of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans. “The voodoo and dark magic elements are easy, given the popularity in New Orleans history with those, but what makes a really good story is intelligently incorporating elements of art history, studies in cultural history, and elements of local natural history. Teach the reader something while entertaining them,” says Michael deVry, venture capital writer and one-time collaborator with Fleshman. “These books are definitely something special and will stay with you long after you close the covers.”
The Dying Dance can be purchased at booksellers worldwide. Trade paperback retails for $ 12.99 and in e-book format for $ 6.99.
