Why do we have to know history in science class?

How did we get here? Well, in terms of Atomic Chemistry, +Hank Green takes
us on a tour of the folks that were part of the long chain of other folks
who helped us get to these deeper understandings of the world. From
Leucippus to Heisenberg to you – yes, YOU – the story of Atomic Chemistry
is all wibbly-wobbly… and amazing.
The History of Atomic Chemistry: Crash Course Chemistry #37
I will never, ever, ever be able to fathom how you can possibly talk about
the history of atomic chemistry and NOT mention Dmitri Mendeleev and just
classify him as “another scientist.” He certainly is more important than
some of the scientists you mentioned such as Lavoisier.
Did anyone else get the Game theory reference? (At least i think it was a
reference)
Einstein just steals Bohr’s tea at 5:45 WTF Einstein
what about Aristotle? i know he was wrong but mention him at least
I see people have picked up on this problem with Dalton’s name, but JJ
Thomson’s name is misspelled in the video at 3 minutes, 14 seconds. There
shouldn’t be a ‘p’ in Thomson. Also it should be Ernest Rutherford (no ‘a’)
at 4 minutes, 22 seconds. I like the video though, very thorough.
democritus had a mentor? i didnt know that. and his theory is wrong. atoms
are different now. and j.j. thomson? his model is funny. the plum pudding
model.
Your a lifesaver.. I just look up videos on my school topics and BAM! I’ve
got a paper in the making.
You mean john dalton
Bohring..
what about James Chadwick?
His shirt… O_O
if this guy was my chemistry teacher I’d be getting amazing grades
+CrashCourse PS Rutherford was at lunch when the Gold Foil experiment was
conducted; his lab assistant did all the work…
Nice shirt
Reading the subtitles is like playing Mad Gab
I gotta write an opinion about this video; thanks a lot, Mr. Delgado.
Omg this really got me so excited!!! Yay physics
Where’s the moustache of Heisenberg? lol
JOHN Dalton, not JAMES Dalton
2:15
You guys should fix the intro. The audio is twisted and feels funny. Set it
to where different tracks are located at different points of the audio
output (ex have the whistling part closer to the ear while having the
guitar part located at the front of the ear)
Very interesting and helpful video thanks
At 2:38 in big bold letters “discharge tubes” reminds me, I need to see my
urologist. j/k
It sounds like something you go to the doctor about.
