This is more “rocket mathematics” than “rocket science”
okay i need a little help here!
using the end equation Vol=SQRT(A*M*g/1000)
if i had an opening with 1m diameter so A=0.5*0.5*3.14=0.785
and say my vessel has a mass of 200kg
Vol=SQRT(0.785*200*9.81/1000)=1.241m^3
and as Vol is also equal to A*Ve, we can work out what Ve should be by Vol/A
so Ve=1.241/0.785=1.58m/s
so if Ve has to be 1.58m/s and everything falls to the earth at 9.81m/s^2
why would common sense say it wouldn’t levitate as surely it would be at
the right speed?
i know iv probably made a mistake somewhere but could someone just explain
it to me?
I appreciate that you included the math, I going to use a lot of it! I’m
starting a career in exactly this, rocket science, so many thanks!
It’s funny that you took a different tone with this video because you were
explaining everything in super layman’s terms
its rocket sciencs
waht did you expected but a headeach
Thanks to this video, I can now calculate how much I would have to fart in
order to fly.
You know ive learned the science of rockets as my thought process at meek.
But, you don’t need alot of milk at all to levitate right? just a drop will
do, as long as you expell it at a high enough velocity?
Damn, I were eating when I saw the vomit scene. :P
I was hoping for a bit of calculus in this video. (Because we are talking
about rates)
the vol. is per second right?
for everyone that thinks that burned rocket fuel comes out of rockets.
you’re wrong. its water that comes out of rockets
ha? i was a little bit sleeping , could you refraise that please 😛 ?
Biggest problem is human bilogy, humans can’t just vomit when they whant, and
about 60% of stuff u eat or drink is vomited when you overload, but 40%
stays in your body, and more bigger issue is that u can’t drink 53 L of
milk, taht is for just 1 sec,or is it caz u will vomit just 60% of 53l if u
cna drink it,so you need to take that is formula, caz scientists need to
watch closely what are all problems, and solver all things,BTW i am talking
about human eating or drinking milk, not about rockets
The formula is actually volume per second to be expelled to hover.
Little unit calculations
Sqrt(A.M.g/density) which is sqrt (m^2 . kg . m/s^2 ÷ (kg/m^3)). => m^3/s
First and very obviously: I love MinutePhysics! I enjoy the show, I like
the style but most of all I love the idea of making science (of any kind)
accessible for viewers with various educational backgrounds!
BUT! This is exactly why I would like to tell you, why (imho) this video
might be way more confusing than it could have been and than I think you
wanted it to be: I’m talking about the variable of time. Now I’ve heard
that it was supposed to be about the time frame of 1 second but if I recall
correctly, it was mentioned only once in the whole video and only in regard
of the exhaust velocity. So knowing that and being able to do math and some
high school physics you can extrapolate this for R (which is Vol over t)
and for g but sadly enough I know that not everybody can do that and for
the purpose of explaining it to as many people as possible I would suggest
to make a little more emphasis on things like that (which I know must seem
trivial to you). Especially if the last equation has g(measured in m/s^2)
on the one side of it and only Vol (in m^3) and A (in m^2) on the other
side and so on the first glance the units don’t seem to add up… Just
saying that it might seem a little confusing for those of us, who aren’t as
fast as you are ^^
Hope that my comment will be helpful for… anybody o_O
Keep up the good work and thank you!
Pls make a better video !!!!!!!! Now that u make better vids.
Wait, you said. that if the rocket stopped firing in earth’s gravitational
field it would go down at a rate of -9.8m/s^2, but that’s a double
negative, your basically saying that it’s accelerating away from the
planet, it would go down at 9.8m/2^2 and up at a rate of -9.8m/2^2. Did I
just correct MinutePhysics?
Instructions unclear, end up in the moon…
How do you talk so clearly while eating?
RIP TO ALL MY EMETOPHOBIC BOTHERS AND SISTERS
Why it is Ve-V in formula? Aren’t exaust is going Ve relativ to the rocket?
I need to stock up on milk.
he is so smart LOL he is
The velocity you vomit the milk at is what actually matters. Arbitrarily
setting the time for t = 1s is somewhat misleading.
So, did you see where they hide chemtrail sprinklers or you didn’t pass
your illuminanti initiation ritual yet?
My Airbus 350 is on backorder. I think due to a missing escape hatch…..
Can I enter the code “MinutePhysics” to get 10% off my Air Bus order?
And which airplane transports the airplane parts for the airplane parts
transporting airplane?
I think the real question is, how do they make the airplane part carrying
airplane?
is this an AD for the Airbus A350 as it’s not selling as expected ?
Omg they shoot ducks at the turbines. That is hilarious. I would hate that
to be my job though. It would be all like “what do you do for a living” ”
oh I’m a duck cannon expert” LOL
Ten planes a month, one every two days.
Now let meee think… 10×2….
Wait wat?
I don’t get why people would people would dislike this, it’s just an
amusing informative video
NEW VIDEO! How an Airplane is Made:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rMgpExA4kM
‘they take us to work’, how far away from work do you live to be reliant on
airplanes to get to it o.O
*This is the first MinutePhysics video that didn’t make me think of a
concept I hadn’t thought of before or where I didn’t learn something.*
Considering your videos are practically never over 5 minutes long, and that
you have put out more than 20, and for those with a thick skull, this is a
very big compliment.
I was highly suspicious of the idea, but now I’m quite impressed. The only
bad thing I have to say about this channel, is that you tend to talk about
physics like the theories are proven and iron clad, and in many cases, they
aren’t, especially when talking cosmology. I would very much love to see
the day where you guys say “currently the most widely accepted theory as to
how stars are formed…” instead of “the way stars are formed is…”. That
would add a whole lot of educational value to your presentations, something
that the school systems around the west never even touch on.
As an aviation geek, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face when watching
this video! Thanks Henry!
Everyone knows by now air travel is old technology, the way to go of the
future is defiantly trains (Maglev trains). Trains are already the best and
fastest ways of transport.
Can the next vid be about how poluting these things are and how we should
avoid using them as much as possible even though alternatives might be More
expencive like trains? I would be curious to know what airbus’s plans are
for building more sustainable forms of transport.
I’m sorry, but does YouTube pay people to dislike videos?
Thanks for showing us how an airplane is made. Did you know these types of
planes are also being used on a daily basis to poison the air we breathe?
At the very beginning of this video and also at :40 into this, you can see
the white aerosol spray lines as you were going off to board the plane to
France to see how they’re constructed. Those are called chemtrails. Please
learn about them. I have a whole playlist of other peoples’ good video
uploads to teach you about this in my Global Warming Lies playlist. Every
day we’re breathing deadly aerosols of aluminum, barium and other
particulates in that have been sprayed across the skies in a lie to
supposedly combat global warming. It’s not true and it’s slowly killing
everything. I have almost died from this twice already and have to take
metal detoxifiers just to rid my body from the aluminum where this is
sprayed daily here in Denver Colorado. Please, I ask you, learn about this
so we can wake people up and stop this spraying and try to restore this
Earth.
Go behind the scenes of an Airbus A350 being built!
Not to be a stickler, but this ran much longer than 1 minute. I subscribed
to MinutePhysics, not FiveMinutePhysics.
is this the first time you show up in your video? I saw you had been
interviewed by the other youtubers, but it is the first time I saw you in
YOUR video.
Hello Henry, nice to meet you!
Pretty impressive engineering.
but how do they make the Planepart-carrying planes?
This step-by-step video is a little unclear; can I get an instruction
manual or something?
I don’t really want to order one tbh, rather make one myself. A lot
cheaper.
How is the aeroplane part carrying aeroplane assembled? Is there an
aeroplane part carrying aeroplane part carrying aeroplane that looks even
more hilarious than the Beluga?
Passenger comfort? LMAO if only all airplane manufacturers took that into
consideration…
