Big data has become one of the most commonly-used buzz words in today’s business environment. While it began as simply an IT discussion, over the last two years, it has permeated all facets of organizations. However, the big question still remains the same: What on earth are businesses supposed to do about big data? Recognizing that this topic needs to be discussed in actionable detail, Zunesis will hold two seminars on Tuesday, August 4th, 2015, to address this very issue.

Although big data may have driven much discussion in recent quarters, Zunesis is strongly against simply creating activity that will only add to the noise. In the spirit of creating seminars that are truly educational and useful for attendees, they are bringing in Alan Simon, Zunesis Senior Analytics Fellow and Senior Lecturer in the Information Systems Department at Arizona State University, as the keynote.

Mr. Simon has over thirty years of experience in high-value business intelligence and data management. He has led global consulting practices and provided strategy roadmaps for over forty national and international companies. He has also authored more than thirty books, three of which were co-authored with Zunesis President and CEO, Steve Shaffer. Currently, Mr. Simon is teaching at ASU and contributing to LinkedIn’s new professional education group, Lynda.com, with his hugely successful video series, Foundations of Business Analytics: Prescriptive Analytics.

At these seminars, Mr. Simon will discuss not only what big data is and how it is affecting business today; but he will take the issue a step further and delve into how to utilize the available data to achieve desired business outcomes. Specially, he will be address the following topics:

Prescriptive analytics fundamentals
Roles of Big Data and traditional data warehousing in prescriptive analytics
Core technologies and architectural principles for prescriptive analytics
Aligning high-impact business value with your investments in analytics technologies
Building a game-changing prescriptive analytics roadmap for your organization

Attendees will have the option of selecting the session that works best for them. The first seminar is to be held at Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, and the second will be held at Metro State University’s main campus in Denver. Meals will be provided for attendees at each. To learn more or to register, please click here.
